Tobacco Free Michigan's Annual Conference
July 22 Okemos, MI
9am - 4pm
The 2026 annual conference was a great opportunity to meet other TFM members and learn about what is happening around the state and around the country regarding tobacco and nicotine trends. The 2026 conference will be the largest yet with the addition of a 5th speaker!
Speakers

Local efforts to remove tobacco availability: Jeff Griffith and others that helped shut down some illegal tobacco shops in Detroit will share their experiences getting the City of Detroit to shut down tobacco shops selling to minors.
Community Outreach to LGTBQ: Presenters from the Ruth Ellis Center and Affirmations will share there experiences reaching out to the LGTBQ communities with new programs
Policy updates: As always we will go over the latest public policy news including what the new (hopefully completed by than) state budget will mean for prevention and cessation around Michigan as well as updates about the cigar bar proposal at DTW and efforts to get tobacco retailers licensed.
